| Description: | Berks Visiting Nurse Association is currently seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to provide medically directed selected physical therapy treatment to clients of all ages in the home in our Northern Berks County service area. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible to supervise Home Health Aides in the care of particular clients, assist the Clinical Managers in matters relating to physical therapy, report to the manager regarding the physical therapy program, and plan periodic reviews and field visits with the Manager. You will also be responsible to perform direct service to clients including teaching physical therapy procedures to the client and/or family member, provide instruction to client and/or family member in supportive activities to be carried out between visits, and confer periodically with the attending physician regarding the client’s progress. Additional responsibilities are to maintain records and reports, demonstrate physical therapy procedures and/or supportive measures to the staff nurses and Home Health Aides, assess physical, emotional, socio-economy problems affecting the family health of each client, and provide for the special needs of the hospice client. REQUIREMENTS Interested candidates should have knowledge of the administration of a physical therapy program in home health, comprehensive knowledge of current physical therapy techniques, literature and practice, and comprehensive knowledge of effective consultative processes and ability to use them effectively. You must be a graduate of a school approved by the American Medical Association and American Physical Therapy Association or meet other requirements recommended by the American Physical Therapy Association as outlined in the Federal Health Insurance for the Aged (condition of Participation). You must be eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Association and have possession of a valid license as a physical therapist as issued by Pennsylvania State Board. Experience utilizing a laptop and/or personal computer, preferred. Ability to cope with occupational hazards such as exposure to contagious diseases, extreme weather conditions, domestic pets and dilapidated residences. You must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, and automobile insurance, available automobile during working hours and be able to drive in all types of weather. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift without weight restrictions, relate to others, write, speak, make independent judgments, listen and use visual acuity and finger dexterity. |
