Description: The Visiting Nurse Association of Pottstown & Vicinity is currently seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide services to individuals of all ages whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury or illness, developmental problems, the aging process, and social or psychological difficulties.

Service area includes Boyertown, Bally, Barto, Bechtelsville, Douglassville and the Pottstown VNA service area.

You will be required to assist the Clinical Managers in instructing members of the staff, students, and ancillary personnel in matters related to occupational therapy, and assist the physician in assessing client’s ability to carry out necessary physical and emotional functions by employing diagnostic and prognostic procedures.

You will be responsible to provide clients with specialized assistance in learning skills; use selected educational and rehabilitative activities to build balanced lifestyle of work and leisure; provide sensory motor therapy and objective assessment of cognitive and sensory function pertaining to independence in critical life management skills; and assess the living environment for recommended adaptations and additions to the architectural structure to increase functional self-reliance.

REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates must have knowledge of the functioning of an occupational therapy program in a home health care, knowledge and appreciation of the relationship of a medically-approved occupational therapy program to the total home care program, and ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

You must be a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure, registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association, must have a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate and at least one year’s experience in the field of occupational therapy, preferably with experience in a home care setting.

Also required is a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license, automobile insurance and available automobile during working hours and able to drive in all types of weather.

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift without weight restrictions, relate to others, write, speak, make independent judgments, listen and use visual acuity and finger dexterity.
